"Today I had the pleasure of using a pair of Scroto Shield™ shorts while performing a testicular ultrasound and let me tell you it made the exam so much easier for not only me, but for my patient as well.  Normally I have to roll up a towel, have the patient place it underneath his scrotum and then have him cross his legs which is incredibly uncomfortable for someone having extreme testicular pain. I then have him cover his penis with another towel. Most patients don’t properly place the towel underneath their scrotum, so I have to do it for them which they don’t appreciate. With the scrotal privacy shorts, my patient was able to just slip the shorts on and he was ready to scan.  He felt covered and his scrotum was in the perfect position for me to ultrasound. With the towel method, once I scan for a few minutes the towel has to be repositioned because the towel is held up by the patients’ legs and the patient moves his legs if he is having any discomfort at all.  It was so wonderful not having to reposition his scrotum to get a clearer picture.  And the best part of using the scrotal privacy shorts was how pretty my ultrasound images were with very little effort. The scrotum stayed in an ideal position throughout the entire exam and the image quality was superb.  No more begging my coworkers to do all of the testicular ultrasounds.
